JONATHAN HOLTZMAN

Founder, Chairman and CEO

Third-generation real estate developer Jonathan Holtzman is recognized nationally for his understanding of consumers and brand creation skills, that has translated into the design, development and management of some of the most admired apartment and mixed-use communities in North America. 

Holtzman’s grandfather Joseph, who founded Joseph Holtzman Homes nearly 100 years ago, seeded Jonathan’s passion for challenging and advancing conventional real estate wisdom.  Joining then-Holtzman & Silverman in 1978 after attending Michigan State University in Economics and Management, Holtzman led Michigan-based Village Green’s growth as one of the nation’s leading, customer-centric apartment brands.

As co-chairman of the company beginning in the early 1980s, Holtzman partnered with institutional clients and high net worth individuals to acquire apartment communities throughout the Midwest and develop the company’s core service and operational principles, including its proprietary training program—Village Green University. Over the course of Holtzman’s oversight, the company had built, developed and acquired more than 25,000 apartments and operated more than 40,000.

Holtzman’s many philanthropic activities include his Holtzman Wildlife Foundation. One of the foundation’s global projects is focused on protecting the Red Panda, an endangered species native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China.

ROB PLATT

Chief Operating & Investment Officer

Rob is the Chief Investment Officer at City Club Apartments and oversees $2B in apartment real estate assets from an asset management perspective and leads all equity sourcing and financing activities, including:  construction lending, permanent financing, acquisitions and dispositions.  Rob entered the multi-family industry in 2005 as a Property Manager with Village Green Companies and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Asset Management.  He maintained personal oversight of the portfolios for Jonathan Holtzman and Village Green of over 30 apartment assets for 11 years at which point he and Holtzman departed and created the City Club Apartment venture.  Rob received a BS in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University and has been working in the multi-family industry for over 12 years.

MICHAEL PALMER

Senior Vice President & Controller

Mike is responsible for realizing the potential of team through meaningful conversations, EOS structured weekly, quarterly and annual meetings where the team is all rowing in the same direction.  This includes Corporate, Management, Development, CCAC & CCAD Accounting and IT related matters and personnel.  Mike manages the development draw schedule and submissions to bank/title company; coordinates the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for companies & properties including GAAP financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and variance reporting.  He is responsible for establishing & managing accounting internal controls and process management; treasury controls/standards and banking coordination. 

Mike has 14 years of multifamily real estate experience.  He started out in public accounting but has evolved in his career to become a Real Estate and systems professional who oversees Accounting, Information Technology & Support and the CCA Communications (CCAC) department’s Vision, Structure, Goals and Culture.  Mike attended Alma College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Accounting. 

PETER BURGOYNE

Senior Vice President, Design

Peter leads the Communication and Design teams to ensure that the City Club Apartments brand is conveyed through all marketing materials, interior design and new developments. Peter has built a reputation for elevating design by developing meaningful experiences, most notably, with the juxtaposition of modern technologies and art with architecture. His personal charge is to synthesize design, product, business, and technology into an experience that’s both memorable and enjoyable. Peter has over 20 years of international design leadership experience as both an in-house design leader, including at innovative hospitality company OTG Management, and as a creative leader within major design studios such as Dash Design, Jeffrey Hutchinson & Associates and NYC Branding Agency CBX. He has led projects that span four continents and that range from mass market to luxury, from one off small-scale spaces, to large city block sized mixed use projects in Asia.

He has worked on and led teams for iconic Hospitality, F&B, Retail and Travel brands including Sheraton, Marriot, Saks Fifth Avenue, Godiva and Shinsegae. A graduate of the Northumbria University’s influential Design for Industry course in the United Kingdom, Peter currently serves on the VM+SD Editorial Advisory Board and actively participates in the design community as a writer and speaker.

HAYNE DRUMHELLER

Vice President, Construction

Hayne is an Owner’s Representative in charge of providing construction support and project management for CCA Development. He is responsible for all phases of construction management activity from project inception to final completion.  Hayne has 25 years of construction experience with the last 15 being solely focused on multifamily.  Before joining City Club he spent a large part of his career with a multi-family REIT planning and executing major redevelopment projects involving over 20,000 apartments. 

JEFF LANGE

Vice President, Construction

Jeff Lange is an Owner’s Representative in charge of providing construction support and project management for CCA Development. He is responsible for all phases of construction management activity from project inception to final completion. He has 30 years of construction experience with the last 10 years solely focused on multifamily. Before joining City Club he spent a large part of his career working for a general contractor executing major new construction projects.

PAUL FROMM

Vice President, Development

Paul is responsible for day-to-day management of new development projects from the initial concepting and underwriting phases through construction and final completion. Prior to joining the City Club Apartments team, he was a developer for Village Green, where he was responsible for value-add re-developments. Prior experience includes being an architectural designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill NYC, designing mixed-use high-rise, civic, commercial, and institutional buildings. Paul received his MBA and MA from the University of Michigan and BS in Architecture.

MIKE SCHILLING

Vice President, Asset Management

Mike oversees  the financial performance and strategic business plans of the 20+ assets that City Club Apartments  owns and manages across  six states.  His team  develops  and  manages long-term capital  plans  for each  asset,  assists in dispositions  and  acquisitions, and coordinates ongoing management transitions.  He joined  City Club  Apartments, after  spending five years  at Village Green, where he was a member of the asset  management department. During his time at Village Green, Mike oversaw  a 33-asset portfolio that included  hi-rise, mid-rise,  and garden style, luxury market  rate apartments in 20 cities. Mike has a BA from Wayne State University.

ROGER REMBLAKE

Vice President, Facility & Construction Management

Roger  oversees  the  facilities and  maintenance operations at  each  City Club Apartments  community.  Roger  joins us  from  Village Green  and  has  over 25  years  of experience and  was formerly a licensed  City of Chicago Chief Stationary  Engineer. He retains  his Building  Owners  and  Managers Association  (BOMA) RPA certification, and  as  well he  is a member of the  International Facility Management  Association  (IFMA). Roger  also   serves  as   the  Vice  President   for  the  Chicago  Fire Departments,  Survive  Alive House  Foundation  as  well as  a member of the Chicagoland Apartment   Association  and   National Fire  Protection  Association. Roger graduated from DePaul University with a BA concentration in Real Estate Management. He currently possesses the LEED Green Associate credential for sustainability.

DAVE EADS

Assistant Vice President, Hospitality

Dave is an AVP, overseeing the management operations of CCA Hospitality.  He’s responsible for the financial performance, employee development and building customer relationships.  He’s been a part of CCA Hospitality since the first transition of management in April 2017 and has 10 years experience in the industry.  

ANDREA COSENZA

Assistant Vice President, Information Technology

Andrea manages the Information Technology and Support team and most recently CCA Communications.  She is responsible for streamlining processes and driving cutting edge technologies.  Andrea has over 15 years’ experience in the multifamily industry.  Prior to joining City Club she spent the majority of her career at Village Green where she spearheaded various technology initiatives.  Her passion for solving problems has won her many awards.  Andrea previously worked at Bluerock where she successfully implemented Yardi Investment Management module.

CHERISE SOULLIERE

Assistant Vice President, Organizational Development

Cherise is responsible for overseeing half of the City Club Hospitality portfolio and ensuring each site has operational success. In addition to her leadership role in the Hospitality department, Cherise is responsible for developing and implementing detailed procedures for City Club to cultivate a universal standard of excellence. With twelve years of residential experience, her on-site knowledge, attention to detail and commitment to City Club’s growth has proven invaluable in contributing to the company’s strategic objectives. Cherise received her BS in Business Administration from Wayne State University.

JOSHUA BRODY

Assistant Vice President, Commercial & Ancillary Services

Josh oversees City Club Apartment’s commercial portfolio and is responsible for the office, retail, and restaurant partnerships. Josh works with local brokers to identify new retail tenants at City Club properties, and once identified negotiates leases with the new tenants. In addition, Josh oversees all ancillary income for City Club Apartments, negotiating cable contracts, laundry leases, antenna leases, valet parking agreements, and other sources of revenue for the properties. Josh formerly was an asset manager for City Club, and is also involved in legal affairs at the properties. Prior to joining City Club, Josh practiced law in Metro Detroit, focusing on landlord-tenant matters and real estate transactions. Josh received his BS in Financial Management from Indiana University and his JD from DePaul University College of Law.

JONATHAN SHERMAN

Assistant Vice President, Asset Management & Finance

Jonathan is responsible for the  oversight  and  operational performance of City Club’s  real  estate  portfolio,  with specific focus  in assisting  with restructuring  existing financing  and  repositioning of portfolio  assets.  Prior to joining  CCA in May of 2016, Jonathan worked as an Asset Manager for affordable housing developer and operator Centennial Management Corp. in Miami, Florida, tasked with the procurement and  implementation of subsidy and  gap  financing,  as well as overseeing almost  1MM ft2  industrial  portfolio. During his time with Centennial, he also served as a Development Associate on three ground-up tax-credit developments totaling over $50  million. Jonathan received his BA from the University of Michigan with a double  major  in Economics and  History.
