Detroit-based City Club Apartments broke ground on City Club Apartments MDA-Phase II in the historic Loop District in downtown Chicago. Deputy Mayor Samir Mayenkar, Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development Cindy Roubik and City Club Apartments Chairman, CEO Jonathan Holtzman were among the speakers during the virtual event.
“We are thrilled to be breaking ground on Phase II of this great community,” said Holtzman. “We have been actively developing, owning and managing high-performing mixed-use apartment and penthouse communities in Chicago for more than 24 years. This is the first of two new buildings that we will be breaking ground on in the City this year.”
The community, which is located at 63 East Lake Street in the Loop District, is just steps from the Chicago River and the famous Theater District and a short walk from Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago and Michigan Avenue shopping. The 23-floor historic 1927 first phase MDA building was redeveloped into a mixed-use apartment community by the developer in 2006.
The existing historic MDA I building also has a full-service bar/restaurant and boutique market/café on its first floor. The new building will reflect the historic architecture of Chicago with decorative brickwork, large casement style windows, black metalwork fenestration and international design interiors. The new rooftop Sky Park will include a heated outdoor pool, wrap around sun loungers, outdoor theatre, grill stations, cabanas and lounge seating as well as spectacular city views. The 6th floor will house a multi-purpose Clubroom/Conference room and connect to CCA MDA Phase I via a 6th-floor skybridge.
CCA MDA Phase I and II residents will have access to the combined amenities and services of both buildings which will include a 24/7 concierge, lobby lounge library, 24/7 whole body fitness center, weekly social programing, pool and hot-tub, multi-purpose clubroom/conference room, Zen Garden, Sky Club, bicycle room, Bark Park, indoor theatre, business center and conference room.
City Club Apartment and Penthouse communities are located in prime neighborhoods with great access to public transportation, arts and culture, parks and trails, sporting venues, retail, restaurants, and entertainment and central business districts.
